Met GROEN=DOEN, met de nadruk op DOEN neemt Maurice Beijk u aan de hand mee in volhoudbare ontwikkelingen om ons heen. Hij wil u vooral laten zien, dat het allemaal niet duur en complex hoeft te zijn.

Maurice Beijk wordt als ‘Rentmeester2050’ gezien als deskundige op het gebied van MVO en in het bijzonder op het gebied van duurzaamheid. Een van zijn statements is: “De aarde heeft ons niet nodig maar wij de aarde. Bij maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen (MVO) staan de 3 P’s centraal: aandacht voor People, Planet en Profit. Bij MVO zijn de 3 P’s daarom allemaal even belangrijk. Aan de drie P’s van duurzame ontwikkeling: People, Planet, Profit, voegt hij een vierde P toe: Passie. “Zonder passie komt het er niet van” aldus Beijk. Omdenken is zijn kracht en daar neemt hij u graag in mee. Aan de orde komen o.a. de navolgende actuele thema’s. Duurzaamheid, energietransitie, circulariteit, klimaatadaptatie, Drawdown, revitalisering, SDG’s, trends en meer.

Personal responsibility for sustainability and sustainability itself have traditionally been subjects that mainly concern highly educated citizens and those with higher social positions. For years, groups with a lower social standing, people born abroad, and those with non-Dutch parentage have virtually been excluded. Leading up to “Nijmegen – European Green Capital” the Kleurrijk Groen (colourful green) programme was created to broaden the participation and involvement of citizens. The Kleurrijk Groen programme involved more citizens from a variety of backgrounds in all kinds of sustainable initiatives. This involvement and participation was not just a one-off situation: it is still visible today.

The struggle of a leader implementing SDG’s

Stuart Weir was recently appointed Town Clerk and General Manager of the municipality of Winterswijk, Green Leaf Award winner of 2022. One of his goals is to embrace the SDG’s as a compass for every aspect of the organization. But ‘HOW’ do you realize that ambition? In this interactive session Stuart will share his dilemma’s and explore possible strategies to overcome them.

How can Green Leaf municipalities
make 2023 a great year?

No Green Leaf municipality will be chosen for the year 2023. It would be good if the former Green Leaf municipalities together ensure that the Green Leaf promotion of sustainability among municipalities continues in 2023. In this workshop Arjan Klein Nibbelink collects ideas from former Green Leaf municipalities and other parties to make 2023 a great Green Leaf year.

Arjan Klein Nibbelink is Assignment Director Sustainability at Green Leaf municipality Winterswijk. He works together with others on the Green Leaf programme of Winterswijk.
